Ron Paul supports limited federal government. Except where we need massive federal overreach to stop gays from marrying and keep women from making health choices regarding pregnancy. This is official campaign literature.

I’ll go ahead and reblog this because of the very blatant lie that some people might fall for.
Ron Paul does not believe the federal government should stop gay people from getting married. Rather, he believes that the federal government should stay out of the marriage business altogether. When people interpret “Feds shouldn’t get involved” as “Feds should outlaw this” it only demonstrates their lack of nuance and inability to think outside of a black-and-white perspective.

The Defense of Marriage Act does not outlaw homosexual marriage; rather, it allows for individual states to make their own decisions and prohibits them from forcing their definition on others.
