Democracy:

A system which legitimizes the majority imposing their will on the minority.

Think about it: If 49 people in the crowd want to invade Alice’s house and throw her out, that’s a mob. If all 50 of them take a vote and Alice is the only one against the idea, they do it anyway and we call it a moral system of government. How does that make sense?
